What do the asterisks beside some of the names signify?

I think it is that the persons that ordered more than one copy, number of asterisks == number of copies.

Yes, Andreas is right :) It was just to help me remember that the person ordered more than one copy. Some people asked for additional copies a while after they had preordered one, so their names would be far apart in the list.

What's this, then?

The new black 5,25" floppy disks for batch #2 of The Bear Essentials are unnotched, and I don't feel like notching 250 disks, so I had to modify one of my drives to ignore the write protection.

There's a fancy way of doing this with a switch to turn it on/off but since I don't have the required components I went for a temporary solution.

I used the same 1541-II drive I used to copy batch #1, because it works perfectly and the top lid was already loose.

First I unscrewed the little green circuit board with the sensor that checks if the disk is write protected.

Then I used a piece of metal wire to connect the green and orange wire in the picture, tricking the drive into thinking that the unnotched disks aren't write protected.

It works great, so far I've copied the game onto 50 unnotched disks! :) Batch #2 will start shipping soon.

Aye, well done Vanja!

Un-notched disks will add to the professionalism of the already professional looking game :D
